My Message

I started at Northern Air Hospital Radio (then Radio HBS) back in 1977 (I was very young!) In those days the presenters were in the studio but the record decks were in the outer room and I began my radio career by 'spinning the discs' for the Friday night new release show!

I graduated to a show called 'Talking Point' where Dave Brammer & I interviewed some weird and wonderful people. How many places do you get the opportunity to interview Samantha Fox one day and then Sooty the day after!! We also regularly produced outside broadcasts, the most memorable of which were interviewing the Manchester United team at their receptions at Manchester Town Hall. I still treasure the memory of meeting and interviewing Sir Matt Busby. The interview is still in the archives.

These days I’ve been elevated to the heady heights of Station Manager. It has been a labour of love moving the station into the 21st Century. I’m very proud of what the team has achieved over the last few years and Northern Air Hospital Radio continues to broadcast quality programmes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Being involved with Hospital Radio has been an interesting, at times exciting, but always a fulfilling experience and I continue to broadcast daily.
